I’ve often said I didn’t choose this case. It chose me. And if the stars have anything to say about it, they agree.

When I first learned about the disappearance of baby Deorr Kunz Jr., I felt an instant connection—not just emotional, but energetic, spiritual. I later discovered that his birth chart and mine weren’t just resonant—they were entwined in ways that suggested more than mere coincidence. We were astrologically tethered. Perhaps karmically tasked.

Let’s begin with the most striking overlay: asteroid Dioretsa, which I use to represent Deorr himself. In my natal chart, Dioretsa sits at 5° Aries. In Deorr’s chart, it lands at 8° Taurus. That puts my Dioretsa directly conjunct his asteroid JessicaMiles at 3° Aries. It’s as if the cosmos mapped me onto his mother’s role—not as a parent, but as a witness, an analyst, someone cosmically assigned to make sense of the senseless.

Then there’s Phaethon, the asteroid I use to represent vehicles, since one theory suggests Deorr may have been hit by a car. In my chart, Phaethon is at 9° Gemini, a degree astrologers often associate with homicide. It’s tightly conjunct my IsaacRoberts at 1° Gemini. It sends chills. If Isaac had any knowledge or involvement in a vehicular accident, my chart’s setup seems to pull me straight into that corridor of mystery.

Even more uncanny: my asteroid Verne (for Vernal Kunz) sits at 5° Capricorn, conjunct my Part of Fortune. Deorr’s Phaethon is at 23° Aries. While not a conjunction, this square suggests tension, potential conflict, or a karmic trigger between Vernal and a theory of vehicular harm. Something not easily seen, but energetically active.

But the astrology isn’t just about questions. It also suggests purpose.

My asteroid Justitia, named for the Roman goddess of justice, sits at 27° Aquarius. It trines Deorr’s Karma at 28° Virgo. That’s a clean, supportive connection. A cosmic green light. My pursuit of justice for Deorr isn’t born from vengeance or ego. It’s a contract. A calling.

And lastly, my asteroid GraceHsu, which I use as my name asteroid, sits at 10° Sagittarius. Deorr’s Dioretsa is at 8° Taurus. This gentle sextile is a whisper from the universe: you are connected to this child. Not by blood, but by mission.

This is only the beginning. In the next post, we’ll look at how my chart interacts with Vernal Kunz’s. Spoiler: it involves Regulus. And Mars. And fate.
